What a year of one-day websites has done for my WordPress builds
Over at Human Touch AI (our sister business) I’ve been building static AI websites in a single day for over a year, delivering 100% ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ TrustPilot reviews with sites that are performing really well. It’s been a great success and I have loved being able to offer this value especially to new businesses where every penny counts!
But could I build bespoke WordPress websites using AI?
I recently threw down the gauntlet and quoted a client £1,500 for a site I would previously have charged around £10-15,000 for. I knew there were efficiencies to be had using AI for bespoke WordPress builds, but I did think I might have shot myself in the foot with an overoptimistic quote, and I was quite prepared to take a substantial hit in the name of an opportunity to test my skills.
A bespoke AI WordPress build
The site needed bespoke property listings, excursions, a lifestyle blog. The kind of site where the client logs in and adds her own properties, excursions, updates availability, posts new content, without having to phone a developer.

That used to be at least a 3-4 month job. I built it within a week, came in on budget, and Christina paid a fraction of what I’d have quoted her a couple of years ago. I couldn’t believe how smoothly it went, and neither could she. It wasn’t just that it looked beautiful, and felt like her, but it was totally bespoke and simple, allowing her to really easily add her properties and excursions.

Work that used to take me two days takes about an hour now. That’s not an exaggeration! I feel like superwoman working at this speed.
How does AI help a WordPress build?
Basically everywhere!
The first efficiency is right at the start of a project.
Planning
Getting the brief organised, working up the wireframes, laying out the structure and the page hierarchy, and getting a first draft of the copy down so there’s something real to look at. Doing this over and over on the Human Touch AI builds taught me to get through all of that in hours instead of weeks, and it works exactly the same way on a WordPress project.
Design framework
Having defined a design direction during client liason, I can then use AI to create an on point design framework ready to implement in the build.
Of course the code
Next is the code. Anyone who builds sites for a living will tell you how much of the day vanishes into writing out the same repetitive, deeply unglamorous bits over and over again. That’s the work a machine should be doing, and now it is!
I’m still in control with all my knowledge and experience
What hasn’t changed one bit is who’s making the decisions. I’m now a director, choosing the overall code architecture, structure and design and with ultimate quality control still making the design calls, going over every line of what comes out, making sure AI doesn’t do any unnecessary or odd coding calls, rewriting the copy so it sounds like you and not like a brochure, and making sure the website has the right priorities, is accessible, secure, findable and built the way it should be.
What this means if you’re wanting a WordPress site
WordPress has always been brilliant. It powers 43% of all the websites on the internet and there’s a very good reason for that. You own it outright. You can update it yourself, add a shop, a booking system, a blog, a members area, whenever you’re ready for it. You’re not locked into anybody’s platform, you’re not renting your own business back off a subscription service, and it works with almost any plugin you can think of. It’s yours.
The trouble was always the cost and the wait. Weeks of back and forth, thousands of pounds, the whole thing feeling like an enormous undertaking before you’d even started. That barrier has come right down now.
We can offer fully bespoke WordPress sites from £1,200.
Designed around your business, with a clean, intuitive dashboard you can actually use, a training session so you feel confident looking after it yourself, green hosting, a tree planted in our grove, and a trusted developer who’s been building WordPress sites since 2004 and has built sites handling millions in revenue.
No tempaltes, no outsourcing.
And your website updates get cheaper too!
The savings don’t stop the day your site goes live.
When a site’s been built this way from the very beginning, I can work at that same speed on changes to it, so updates that used to take two days now take two hours. And of course I pass that straight on to you.
