The Ask
In November 2013, while operating as a freelance contractor, Naomi Spirit was approached by Claire and Martin Murray to have an initial discussion about developing their website. At this point, they were in the process of building their distillery and had yet to distill their first bottle of Rock Rose Gin. It truly was a business in it’s infancy.
The Approach
Initially, Naomi Spirit designed and developed a holding page for Rock Rose Gin as the business prepared themselves for operation. In May 2014, the Rock Rose Gin website launched to coincide with the availability of the first product and the opening of the distillery. For launch, a responsive e-commerce WordPress website complete with blog, search engine optimisation services, a Google Analytics account, supplier map and a Facebook page were all delivered.
As Dunnet Bay Distillers has grown, it has been necessary to evolve their website. From This Day was responsible for the transition from Rock Rose Gin to a Dunnet Bay Distillers website. This change was managed without disruption for customers, maintaining the integrity of the website and meeting the goal of positioning Rock Rose as one of the products from the business – enabling potential for future growth in product range.
The advanced SEO services allow Dunnet Bay Distillers to achieve high rankings for several keywords ensuring customers can always find their products. The website performs well on mobile devices such as phones and tablets – vital, given that their main marketing channel is Facebook, which is most commonly accessed through mobile.
